Amazon Echo Show 10 Review (2026): The Rotating Smart Display Tested

Amazon Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen)

8.5 / 10

VERDICT

It’s engineering magic. The rotating screen solves the biggest problem of static displays—you can't see them while cooking. It offers excellent sound that moves with you and the best video calling experience on Alexa, provided you have the counter space for it.

The Big Picture

Smart displays are great until you walk away to the sink to chop vegetables. The Echo Show 10 is designed to fix this by physically turning to face you. It uses computer vision and audio localization to silently track your movement around a room. It's not just a screen; it feels like a stationary robot assistant.

🔄 Motion & The Moving Sound

The motorized base is completely silent.

The Experience: It’s eerie at first, then incredibly useful. As you move around the kitchen island, the screen follows. Crucially, the speakers are attached to the screen, so the sound is always projected directly at you, not just into the room. It makes following recipes or watching Netflix while cleaning much more immersive.

📹 The Ultimate Video Call Machine

The 13MP camera is fantastic.
Combination Tracking: It combines digital auto-framing (zooming) with physical rotation. You can literally walk in circles around the device during a call, and the person on the other end will always see you perfectly centered. It also doubles as a security camera that you can remotely pan from your phone.

The Pros

  • Motion tracking is genuinely useful in open-plan spaces.
  • Strong 2.1 speaker system (better than Nest Hub Max).
  • Physical privacy shutter covers the camera lens.
  • Built-in Zigbee/Matter Smart Home Hub.

The Cons

  • Massive footprint (needs a large, clear radius to spin).
  • Expensive compared to static screens.
  • The rotation can feel "creepy" to some users.

🤔 Should you buy it?

YES for large kitchens with islands where you move around a lot while cooking or calling.

NO for tight spaces, bedrooms, or if the idea of a camera following you makes you uncomfortable.
