Aqara Cube T1 Pro Review (2026): The Most Fun Way to Control Your Home

Aqara Cube T1 Pro

9.0 / 10

VERDICT

This is the fidget spinner of smart home controllers. It feels magical to just "flip" a cube and have the whole room change. The T1 Pro update adds HomeKit support and differentiates between "Action Mode" (shake/push) and "Scene Mode" (rotate to specific side). It’s a conversation starter and a genuinely useful tool on a coffee table.

The Big Picture

Using a gyroscope and accelerometer, the Cube T1 Pro knows exactly how it's positioned. You can assign the "Rotate" action to dim your lights or adjust curtain openness. You can assign "Shake" to turn everything off. With Scene Mode, turning the cube so side "1" is up can trigger your Morning Routine.

🎲 6 Sides, 6 Scenes

The Logic: Visual indicators.
How it works: The die-like dots on each side let you remember what does what. Side 1: Reading Lights. Side 2: Movie Mode. Side 3: Romantic Dinner. Just pick it up and set it down with the right side facing up.

🍏 HomeKit Support

Finally within Apple.
Integration: Unlike the old version, the T1 Pro works with Apple HomeKit (via an Aqara Hub). This means you can use the cube to control Nanoleaf lights, Lutron shades, or any other HomeKit accessory, not just Aqara products.

The Pros

  • Fun Factor: It’s simply fun to use.
  • Battery: Lasts up to 2 years on a single coin battery.
  • Price: Very affordable (~$25).
  • Design: Minimalist and fits any decor.

The Cons

  • Hub Required: Needs an Aqara Zigbee Hub to work.
  • Learning Curve: Guests will have no idea what it is or how to use it (unlike a switch).
  • Latency: Sometimes takes a second to wake up if it hasn't been moved in a while.
