Samsung S95D OLED Review (2026): The Glare-Free Masterpiece

Samsung S95D OLED

9.6 / 10

VERDICT

Samsung has done something bold. The new "Glare-Free" matte coating eliminates reflections almost entirely. While purists might argue it softens the image slightly, for 99% of people living in bright homes with windows, this is the best TV experience available. The colors are incredibly vibrant thanks to QD-OLED tech.

The Big Picture

Watching a dark movie scene during the day used to be a nightmare of reflections. The Samsung S95D fixes this with a specialized matte finish that diffuses light. Combined with Quantum Dot OLED technology, it produces colors that are brighter and richer than traditional WOLED panels (like LG's C-series).

🚫 Glare-Free Technology

The Magic: It looks like a high-end canvas.
Real World: You can place this TV directly opposite a sunny window, and you won't see the reflection of the window. The blacks remain deep and inky, without the mirror effect that plagues other glass-fronted TVs.

📦 One Connect Box

A feature exclusive to Samsung's flagships.
The Setup: Instead of plugging HDMI cables into the back of the TV (creating a mess), you plug everything into a separate "One Connect Box" that can be hidden in a cabinet. A single, thin translucent cable connects the box to the TV. It’s the cleanest setup for wall mounting.

The Pros

  • Matte Screen: The best anti-reflective coating ever seen on a TV.
  • QD-OLED: Unmatched color volume and brightness.
  • One Connect Box: Perfect cable management.
  • Ultra-thin design (looks like a razor blade from the side).

The Cons

  • No Dolby Vision: Samsung stubbornly refuses to support it (supports HDR10+ instead).
  • Matte finish reduces "perceived contrast" slightly in pitch-black rooms compared to glossy screens.
  • Tizen OS interface feels slower than LG's webOS.

🤔 Should you buy it?

YES if your room has lots of windows or lights. The anti-glare is a game-changer.

NO if you watch movies exclusively in a "bat cave" (pitch black room); the glossy LG G4 might offer slightly sharper blacks in total darkness.
