XGIMI Halo+ Review (2026): The Brightest Portable Projector

XGIMI Halo+

9.3 / 10

VERDICT

If performance is your priority, this is the portable projector to beat. With 700-900 ISO Lumens, it destroys the competition in brightness. It has a built-in battery, powerful Harman Kardon speakers, and boots up in seconds. It is less "cute" than the Samsung Freestyle, but objectively a better projector.

The Big Picture

Portable projectors often suffer from dim, washed-out images. The XGIMI Halo+ fights back with class-leading brightness that makes 100-inch projections watchable even with some ambient light. Powered by Android TV, it gives you access to thousands of apps directly from the Google Play Store.

🧠 ISA Technology

Intelligent Screen Adaption: It's smarter than you.
Obstacle Avoidance: If you project on a wall with a light switch or a picture frame, the Halo+ automatically scales the image to fit the empty space next to it. It also auto-aligns perfectly to your screen borders.

🔋 Built-In Battery

True freedom.
Playtime: It has a built-in battery that lasts about 2.5 hours on a single charge. That’s enough for a full movie in the backyard without hunting for an extension cord. (Samsung's Freestyle requires an external power bank or expensive base).

The Pros

  • Brightness: Significantly brighter and sharper than the Freestyle.
  • Sound: Dual 5W Harman Kardon speakers pump out surprisingly deep bass.
  • Android TV: Chromecast built-in and Google Assistant voice control.
  • 3D Support: One of the few portable projectors that still supports 3D movies.

The Cons

  • Netflix Issue: Netflix is not natively supported (requires a workaround or TV stick).
  • Bulky Power Brick: The charging adapter is large and heavy.
  • Design: Heavier and less flexible than the Freestyle (needs a tripod for ceiling viewing).

🤔 Should you buy it?

YES if you want the best image quality in a portable form factor for camping or backyard movies.

NO if Netflix is your main app and you don't want to use workarounds (Samsung Freestyle runs Netflix natively).
